Right Around the Corner: Texas State Fair

The State Fair of Texas is just around the corner and that means loads of fun for family and friends. This fall starting September 27 and running through October 20, the historical State Fair of Texas will provide attendees with a slew of attractions, events, food, and more. A major source of entertainment for millions of Texas residents and visitors across the country, the fair has been running since 1886 and continues to delight guests.

This year marks the return of the iconic Big Tex, a 52-foot figure designed by Jack Bridges that wears a plaid shirt and jeans donated by H.D. Lee Company. The new Big Tex has gone through cosmetic surgery and can even talk.

The list of attractions is expansive and includes the Silverado Main Stage featuring free concerts all week, the State Fair Auto Show, and the Truck Zone. There is also going to be plenty of food options that range from Belgium, Cajun, and Greek to German, Mexican, and more.

The fair is open, generally, from 10am to 9pm Sunday through Thursday, and until 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
